This is a time in my life I have always dreaded.
The years since I turned 40 seemed to have whipped by faster than a sprinter on steroids. While I enjoy looking at wedding pictures and baby announcements, I am also amazed at the amount of folks that are passing away. People who were my teachers, my mentors, my friends’ parents, and the fabric of my small home town.
My mother suffered a stroke two weeks ago. While a full recovery is expected, it gives pause to the inevitable. We are all going to suffer a similiar fate. Every life ends in death. There is no fountain of youth. It is a somber time.
So enough with the depressing talk.
My message today is for the living.
Don’t let time catch you waiting for something you may never reach.
Take action! Live your life in a way that leaves a legacy.
Regret over something never attempted is no one’s fault but your own.
Are you in a nowhere job? Relationship? Daily Routine?
Be bold. Step out.
Find something that makes you want to get up every single day. You owe it to yourself to make every breath you take have purpose.
Daily self-affirmations are key. Sign up for positive motivating facebook reminders. Take setbacks, not as misery but as life’s way of saying there is more to learn here.
Don’t let fear rob you of the fullness you deserve in life.
I may have dreaded where I am now. I may have been afraid to tackle some things that have become milestones in my life. I may always be searching for contentment with my restless spirit. But, I can assure you, I will never ever give up on the possibilities.
Go Do YOU!
Thanks for listening.
