It was one of those days you seldom have in teaching. I had a sub but was in the building to help with fabric selections for furniture for our new building. The architect was in our meeting as was the principal and another teacher. There was a knock at the door of the office in which we were meeting. “I just wanted to tell you all that a plane hit one of the towers in New York City.” “Yikes!” we all said as we went about our business. My daughter called me last night. While I love getting calls from her, from her home in Denver, I know that there are times I need to listen more than talk. It was one of those listen days. She works with kids. Sometimes providing more stability for them than their own parents. Last night, she was bone weary. She has become a “germ-a-phobe”.
